On May 5, 1954, a baby boy was born to Luther B. Washington and Estella Perry Washington. They named him Eddie Dean Washington. He confessed to Christ at an early age at Greater New Prospect Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor E.C. Crump. Eddie Dean was reared in the community of Guy, Texas. He attended N.A. Allen School and graduated from Needville High School. Eddie Dean hobbies were fishing, drawing, dancing and a self-made photographer. Eddie Dean was the life of the party. Eddie Dean love for his siblings, nieces and nephews was deeply shown daily. Eddie Dean highlight of his life was giving his life to Christ and being taken to see his favorite artist, Chaka Khan by his nieces. Eddie Dean worked at the Needville Gin and Cotton Warehouse for a total of 15 years, after the closing of Jefferson Lake Sulphur Plant. He later was employed with National Oilwell where he retired. He is preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Estella Washington. Brother, Joshue’ Rhodes; Sister, Johnnie Mae Rhodes; Nieces, Celestine Crump Woosley, Almeda Crump Harris, and Annie Belle Crump; and Nephew, Keith Rhodes. He leaves to cherish his memories; One Brother-Luther B. Washington, Jr.; Three Sisters, Almetria Barnes, Vera Washington and Shirley Washington all of Needville, Texas and a host of nieces, and nephews; family friend Calvin Autry.
